Looking for answers about your Reef Prince Kimberley cruise? Here’s the answers to the most frequently asked questions we receive.
Reef Prince does have satellite internet capability. For a one-off fee of $70, guests can purchase an internet pack which allows you 100mb of data per day. This is satellite based and can be assessed for the entire trip. It’s not super fast and you won’t be able to live stream sport or your favourite mini-series, but you will be able to send and receive texts, browse social media and make phone calls through apps such as Messenger and WhatsApp.
Once the Reef Prince leaves port there is generally no mobile service. There may be a limited time with reception as we pass the iron ore mining areas of Cockatoo and Koolan Islands.
There is a satellite phone in the wheelhouse for emergency contact between the ship and land.
Aboard Reef Prince there are five grades of accommodation. State Class & Class 1 cabins feature large viewing windows, Class 2 cabins have a small window for natural light and Classes 3 & 4 are internal cabins, meaning they do not offer external views, however they do come at a lower price.
Yes, all cabin grades aboard Reef Prince feature a private en suite.
Each cabin has power outlets for charging and using appliances. Outlets are standard Australian 3-pin 240v, so if using international appliances please ensure you bring an appropriate travel converter.
Our chef will tempt your tastebuds with a plethora of culinary delights. If you have dietary concerns, let us know so we can adjust your culinary experience accordingly. Our meals are based on healthy local produce and fresh seafood wherever possible.
A continental breakfast is served daily usually at 6:00 AM.
Every second day a cooked breakfast is served usually at 7:00 AM. This consists of treats such as eggs (done so many ways), bacon, mushrooms, beans, pancakes, croissants and mini pastries.
Lunch is normally served at midday and consists of normally two or three options of hot food, three different types of salads and maybe even a soup. Fish is popular at lunch time, depending on how the fisherman go in the morning!
Both breakfast and lunch are served buffet style.
Dinner is different. We encourage you to have a shower, change into something nice and be seated as dinner is table-service. Enjoy an amazing culinary experience for both main and dessert.
All the meals onboard are based on healthy local produce and fresh seafood wherever possible.
After a scrumptious dinner, your cruise director will ensure you are entertained. We often hold a trivia / quiz night, alfresco dining evenings that guests never want to end and themed or fancy dress parties. It’s not uncommon for guests to have a birthday or anniversary onboard – so any excuse for a party!
Sometimes, there may be options to fish in the early evening, or we might set up the outside lights for crocodile, fish and shark spotting. Then of course there’s the billions of stars amongst the Milky Way to sit under and enjoy a quiet evening drink amongst new friends.
For most of your expedition your tour director is going to run you ragged with activities from dawn till dusk – every day – and it’s not uncommon for guests to have an early night in bed due to the 6:00 AM start that day and the same time the next day.
During your Reef Prince Kimberley Cruise you will have several opportunities to cast a line or troll. Depending on your success, the ship’s chef might even incorporate the ‘catch of the day’ into the ship’s menu.
When joining a Reef Prince Kimberley cruise you require travel insurance that provides protection against the need to cancel (as fees of up to 100% of the fare apply) and also coverage for remote area medical evacuation. At Kimberley Cruise Specialists we are able to offer a 20% discount on nib Travel Insurance (which offers both of these requirements, and much more) for travellers who book their Reef Prince cruise through us.
