The Ghan announces Gold Premium

One of the World's Greatest Rail Journeys

One of the most popular add-ons our travellers choose when booking their Kimberley cruise is a train journey aboard the legendary Ghan between Adelaide & Darwin or vice versa.

Stretching over 2,979 kilometres through the heart of Australia’s ‘Red Centre’, The Ghan is regarded as one of the world’s greatest rail journeys, and now you can enjoy it even more when you book your journey in the newly-launched Gold Premium service.

The Ghan Gold Premium Day

Did you know?
When travelling on The Ghan, the itineraries are different depending on whether you are travelling northbound (Adelaide to Darwin) or southbound (Darwin to Adelaide). The traditional 2-night journey from Adelaide offers stops in Alice Springs and Katherine, while the extended 3-night journey from Darwin also offers a day at the Breakaways & remote Coober Pedy.

Adding new touches of style and glamour to the existing Gold Service, Gold Premium’s cabins highlight contemporary design, where the colour palette draws inspiration from the rich colours of Arrernte painter Albert Namatjira’s stunning landscapes. The Australian outback is further evoked through walnut timber and polished brass detailing, along with Indigenous prints on the upholstery.

A comfortable lounge by day that converts to bunk-style sleepers at night, you’ll savour high-quality, luxuriously soft linen, a silk eye mask, and complimentary premium toiletries. All Gold Premium cabins have a compact en suite with a toilet, washbasin and shower and you will also have access to an in-cabin entertainment system boasting six music and journey commentary channels, adding ambience to your travels. Or you can choose to enjoy the hum of the train as the soundtrack to their journey.

The Ghan Gold Premium Beds

When you travel aboard The Ghan in Gold Premium, you’ll also enjoy upgraded dining and social experiences. There’s exclusive access to the new Gold Premium Lounge and Gold Premium Dining carriages, reserved purely for those travelling in Gold Premium, allowing you to share the highlights of your day with fellow guests over an aperitif in the Gold Premium Lounges, along with all-inclusive dining, premium beverages and fascinating Off Train Experiences along the way.
