Heritage Expeditions launches Kimberley Season
In 2023 there will be several expedition ships heading to Western Australia’s Kimberley Coast for the first time, making it more important than ever that you speak to a Kimberley cruising expert to determine which ship is right for you.
At Kimberley Cruise Specialists we focus on working with only the very best Kimberley cruise operators, such as Australia’s pioneering Coral Expeditions, Kimberley Expeditions, True North, Eco Abrolhos Cruises and Kimberley Quest to name just a few. And now, we’re pleased to announce that we’ve added the Heritage Adventurer to our portfolio of Kimberley cruise ships.
Heritage Adventurer - a legendary expedition ship
Launched in 1991, Heritage Adventurer has a celebrated past. She operated for many years as the MS Hanseatic, one of the most legendary expedition vessels of all time. In 2022 she joins New Zealand’s original adventure cruise company Heritage Expeditions (founded in 1985) as the company’s new flagship.
Original designed to accommodate 184 travellers, Heritage Adventurer has been reconfigured to accommodate no more than 140 expeditioners, ensuring spacious, stylish and comfortable voyages. We especially love the fact that this small ship offers dedicated single traveller cabins at an excellent price, along with a number of triple-share cabins, a rarity in the Kimberley where most ships are set up to accommodate a maximum of two travellers in each cabin. Triple share cabins are a great option for families who wish to take a teen along to experience a cruise, or perhaps a group of three friends travelling together, while keeping fares low.
One of the advantages of travelling aboard a larger expedition ship (which is still small!) in the Kimberley is the greater amount of onboard space and amenity available to expeditioners. Heritage Adventurer offers both internal and external dining locations, a lounge / observation deck, multiple bars, library, gymnasium and even a swimming pool, an inviting place to cool off after a day of exploration.
A Knowledgeable Expedition Team
As we know, it takes quite a bit of expertise to operate successfully in the Kimberley, and Heritage Expeditions certainly have that. Aaron Russ, who along with his brother Nathan manage Heritage Expeditions, has been exploring the Kimberley coast for many years, engaged as an expedition leader aboard some of the best expedition ships.
Aaron’s expertise, combined with a knowledgeable expedition team, means travellers can expect an informative and thorough exploration of the Kimberley coast. And, when it is time for exploration ashore, Heritage Adventurer is well equipped. A fleet of 14 Zodiacs ensures all guests are able to maximise their expedition adventure.
In 2023, Heritage Adventurer is scheduled to operate five ten-night Kimberley cruises between Darwin and Broome and vice versa as follows:
Darwin to Broome – 11 to 21 July 2023 – Kimberley Explorer
Broome to Darwin – 21 to 31 July 2023 – Kimberley Explorer
